Choosing the right vibration motor for your application can be a challenging task. Fortunately, there are a few things to keep in mind.
The most important is to consider what kind of product you're designing and the type of vibration you want it to produce. For example, if you're designing a handheld device, you may need a micro-dc vibration motor with haptic feedback to respond to user input or emergency alerts.
There are a few different types of vibration motors, including brushed coin-type and spring PCB motors. Both types have voice coils on the rotor that make contact to the commutation pads on the PCB. The motor chassis encases this circuit and is reinforced with wires to ensure sturdiness. The rubber 'boots' on the surface of the chassis also absorb higher frequency harmonics and help to reduce noise.
